"I absolutely adore the game and had said to my agent that if there was ever an offer to appear in a film version that I would drop everything to read the script and take a crack at it. In fact I did turn down a very lucrative Nike commercial to ensure I was available for the film. I’ve always had the desire to be an action heroine in the Sigourney Weaver mould and playing Rain meant I could cross two ambitions off my list. Frankly, when I read the awesome script, I would have taken a job as a zombie hot dog seller in the theatre where the film was playing just to be a part of it! But to actually be involved in the action and fight relentless Undead hordes is really cool.
Working for the Umbrella Corporation has given Rain a meaning and a place in life. The commando team is her family and her Navy Seal experience means she thrives on the adrenalin rush of defying death at every turn. I have such a vivid imagination that I can see the action and feel the emotion on a visceral level. It’s the way I work, as I love to inhabit the world of the characters I play. Rain has many multi-dimensional aspects to her above just showing anger at the futility of the hopeless situation she’s in - especially when she’s bitten by the Undead. There’s a poignant weight to Paul’s script that doubles the intensity of the terrifying moments because you care about the characters so much"
