Die Constantin Film AG produzierte den Horrorthriller "Resident Evil", der auf dem gleichnamigen, sehr erfolgreichen Capcom-Videospiel basiert...
Alice und Rain führen ein Kommando-Team in den "Hive", eine riesige Genforschungsfabrik, in der eine Stunde zuvor ein tödliches Virus ausgebrochen ist. Das Virus hat in Sekunden das gesamte Forschungspersonal getötet und sie als blutrünstige Untote wieder auferstehen lassen. Alice hat weniger als 3 Stunden Zeit, das Virus in dem unterirdischen Komplex zu isolieren, ansonsten droht es die Welt zu vernichten. Doch bald wird dem Team klar, dass sie nicht nur von Untoten in der Anlage bedroht werden...
Die Dreharbeiten an der Fortsetzung mit dem Titel "Resident Evil: Apocalypse" (ursprünglich: "Nemesis") begannen im August 2003 in Toronto... Regie führte dieses Mal Alexander Witt, der seine Handschrift schon bei den Actionsequenzen einer Vielzahl von Hollywood-Blockbustern, wie z.B. "Fluch der Karibik", "xXx" oder "Black Hawk Down" hinterlassen hat.... Das Sequel kam am 23. September 2004 in die deutschen Kinos...
Alice versucht eine Gruppe von Überlebenden aus der Stadt zu führen, in der durch den Ausbruch des Todesvirus bereits Teile der Bevölkerung zu lebenden Toten mutiert sind. Doch auch die von der übermächtigen Umbrella Corporation entwickelte genetische Kampfmaschine "Nemesis" soll die Flucht verhindern. Bei einem Kampf auf Leben und Tod erkennt Alice, dass sie beide mehr miteinander verbindet, als sie sich je vorstellen konnte...

Epps) und Claire (Ali Larter). Auf dem Weg nach Arcadia - dem einzigen
Ort in Alaska, an dem Menschen noch überleben können - muss die Gruppe
erneut gegen die dunklen Machenschaften von Dr. Isaacs (Iain Glen) und
der Umbrella Corporation kämpfen. Isaacs hat Alice hundertfach zu
einer Kampfarmada klonen lassen, um die Infizierten und auch die
Überlebenden kontrollieren zu können. Doch ein Anti-Virus ist mutiert.
Und diesen Mutanten scheint nichts mehr aufzuhalten...

MTV.com sprach mit Paul W.S. Anderson...
[...] "Resident Evil: Extinction," the third video-game to big screen adaptation in the popular series will likely not be the last, Anderson said, although talks for a fourth film are still in the very earliest stages of development.
"I’m just starting to talk to Sony about it," Anderson confessed. "I don’t even know if anything will come of it, but there’s a possibility it might happen."
It would seem like a sure thing given the ending of "Extinction," which saw Alice (Milla Jovovich) beside herself with rage - literally, thanks to hundreds of perfect clones - promising to travel to the Umbrella Corporation’s headquarters in Japan. But Anderson, who scripted the first three films, says a concrete story hasn’t yet been decided upon. In fact, it’s coming up with a plausible, kick-ass story that’s momentarily holding him up.
"I love the ‘Resident Evil’ franchise and we always try to make the best possible movie we can. If we could find a good ‘Resident Evil 4’ to make, then we would do it," he said. "But I wouldn’t just do it for the sake of it, that’s for sure."

Resident Evil 5 ist kein zeitlich begrenzter Exklusiv-Titel für Xbox 360. Das sagte Christian Svensson, Corporate Officer und Vice President von Capcom, im offiziellen Capcom Forum.
Resident Evil 5 sei ein Multiplattform-Titel, der für PS3 und Xbox 360 erscheinen wird. Damit reagiert Capcom auf Meldungen, in denen behauptet wurde, der Survival Horror-Titel würde zunächst nur für Xbox 360 auf den Markt kommen.

Sony Pictures Entertainment Japan and game maker Capcom will jointly produce feature toon "Biohazard: Degeneration," based on the "Resident Evil" films and games, the partners said Monday.
The "Resident Evil" franchise is known as the "Biohazard" series in Japan.
Skedded for release in the latter half of 2008, the toon, like the other "Resident Evil" pics, is based on a hit horror game that Shinji Mikami created and Capcom developed for the Sony PlayStation.
Since its debut in 1996, the game and its series successors have sold 33 million units worldwide.
The toon will be 3-D CG and based on an original story; the helmer and other cast and crew are yet to be announced.
The live-action pic series, starring Milla Jovovich, has generated three entries, the latest being "Resident Evil: Extinction," which has earned $50 million at the U.S. box office and $100 million worldwide since its Sept. 21 release.

GameFront meldete kürzlich...
Amerikanische Händler wie Gamestop und Blockbuster hatten in den letzten Tagen Resident Evil 4 Wii Edition von Capcom in ihren Ankündigungslisten aufgeführt; gestern tauchte das Spiel auch bei Sofmap in Japan auf - mittlerweile wurden sämtliche Einträge gelöscht.
Heute hat ein weiterer japanischen Händler Resident Evil 4 Wii Edition in seinen Preislisten stehen, dazu aber auch einige Infos. Da das Spiel bislang nicht von Capcom offiziell angekündigt worden ist, bleibt abzuwarten inwiefern die folgenden Angaben zutreffen - sie sind deshalb ohne Gewähr.
Demnach soll die Steuerung von Resident Evil 4 Wii Edition komplett auf den Wii-Controller angepasst und optimiert sein. Auch das Spielen mit dem Classic Controller soll möglich sein. Es gibt zusätzliche Action-Passagen, die speziell für den Wii-Controller neu entworfen wurden.
Neben einem 'Gallery Mode' sind die neue Eisoden mit Ada Wong aus der PS2-Version hinzugekommen. Die Zwischensequenzen sind mit denen der Gamecube-Version identisch. Es soll noch einen weiteren, höheren Schwierigkeitsgrad geben. Ferner sollen im Vergleich zur Gamecube-Fassung deutlich mehr Gegner gleichzeitig auf dem Bildschirm sein.

[...] Both actors were asked how involved they were with their own stunts. Fehr said that he got as involved as possible, but some stunts were too dangerous for even him to want to try. Larter said she was glad for the stunt people as the 128-degree Mexican heat made it hard for her to work, let alone do stunts. They were then asked if they'd played the RE games before shooting. Larter said she hasn't. Fehr said if he starts playing games he becomes addicted, but claiming it was "research for a role" was the perfect excuse for him. [...]
When asked if this movie would be the end of a trilogy or just another in a long line of sequels, Fehr didn't quite know how to answer, saying he believes "no movie is ever really 'done'. There's always somewhere you can go with the characters." Larter mentioned how honoured she felt to be accepted by the cast, particularly Milla Jovovich as "it's her franchise."
The two then finished by introducing an "unfinished" clip (which looked pretty done to me). It features Alice (Milla) and all of her new friends from the end of EXTINCTION, plus Larter, searching an abandoned desert outpost of some sort. A metal door slowly opens and a shitload of zombies pour out. Our heroes start blasting at zombies left and right. Alice does some cool Krav Maga-style neck snaps and bone breaks. Lots of zombies being shot in the head. I'll say this for PW Anderson: what makes the RE series work (even at its dumbest moments) is that the guy knows his audience and how to get that "I-don't-wanna-get-bit" feeling from the games on screen. Uwe Boll could actually learn from this guy. [...]

Capcoms Resident Evil 5 (PS3, Xbox 360) wird höchstwahrscheinlich erst 2008 auf den Markt kommen. Das sagte Produzent Jun Takeuchi in der Famitsu Xbox 360. Laut Takeuchi will Capcom die Bildrate auf 60 fps bringen.
Die Umgebungen in Resident Evil 5 sollen interaktiver als in den Vorgängern sein. Kaltes Wetter und Hitze sollen außerdem sehr wichtige Bestandteile der Spielmechanik sein.
Mit der Engine soll es grafisch möglich sein, dass man das Polygon-Gesicht eines Charakters mit etlichen Muskeln erstellt, so dass sehr realistische Gesichtsausdrücke und -animationen möglich sind. Ebenso sollen die Haare äußerst realistisch modelliert werden, von der Wurzel bis hin zur Spitze.

Rumours are circulating that a planned fourth installment of the "Resident Evil" series - the third has just been completed, and the fourth was set to go up shortly after - has been put to sleep before its even escaped the studio womb.
Checked in with one of the stars of "Resident Evil: Extinction", due out next year, who says as far as he knows plans for a "Resident Evil 4" are still very much alive.
Actor Chris Durand (Michael Myers in "Halloween H20") tells Moviehole that there was plenty of talk about a fourth film whilst they were filming the movie and he’s yet to hear otherwise. "I understood that 4 would take place in Alaska in the extreme Winter".
What could be happening here is that the studio is announcing the next film as the final part of a trilogy - meaning "Resident Evil 4" will be the start of something new; a spin-off perhaps with one of the other characters. One little rumour that has been doing the rounds is that the character of Leon Kennedy could be the hero of the next movie - which would fit in nicely with these other rumours.
"Resident Evil: Extinction" is set in between 3 - 5 years after the events of "Apocalypse", the Umbrella Corporation has failed to control a series of T-Virus outbreaks and the U.S. has been almost wiped out. With very little humanity left, a handful of survivors are travelling around the remnants of the world in heavily armored convoys that go to the least populated parts of the world.
Milla Jovovich returns as Alice, and she's running with a new pack of humans, with Claire Redfield (Ali Larter) leading a convoy (a school bus and a modified ambulance) that's cutting through the wastelands of the United States on a long trek to Alaska. Hunted by the minions of the scheming Dr. Isaacs, Alice has zombies hungry for her flesh and lab rats hungry for her blood, while Alice is hungry for Revenge.
