[04.11.2008] CS! meldet... SPOILER !!!
"24," the Emmy Award-winning series starring Kiefer Sutherland, will premiere with a special two-night, four-hour event Sunday, Jan. 11 and Monday, Jan. 12 (8:00-10:00 PM ET/PT) on Fox. The series, returning for its seventh season, celebrates its milestone 150th episode during the fourth hour of the not-to-be-missed two-night premiere.
Making its time period premiere Monday, Jan. 19 (9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT), "24" will unfold without interruption through the season finale in May. Set in Washington, D.C., "Day Seven" opens with CTU dismantled and Jack Bauer (Kiefer Sutherland) on trial. [...]

[08.09.2008] THR.com meldet...
Fox’s "24" is stopping the production clock for 18 days to allow writers to work on upcoming scripts.
Filming on the real-time drama will be shut down Sept. 15, after the completion of episode 18. It will resume Oct. 9.
The idea for the unscheduled hiatus came from "24" executive producer/showrunner Howard Gordon who had been concerned about the quality of several scripts for upcoming episodes of the 20th Century Fox TV-produced series.
The work stoppage won’t affect the launch of "24'"s seventh season slated for January.
The start of production on the seventh season was delayed a couple of times last summer while the plot line was being redrawn. Filming was then shut down after the eighth episode in early December for almost five months because of the writers strike, which led to Fox’s decision to hold back the entire season until 2009.
Since April, "24" has been in continuous production on the new season and the two-hour prequel, scheduled to air Nov. 24, which has been completed.

[13.06.2008] THR.com meldet...
In his first series role in 40 years, Jon Voight has signed on for the upcoming seventh season of "24."
On the Emmy-winning Fox drama, Voight will play Jack Bauer's (Kiefer Sutherland) uber-nemesis who is pulling the strings behind next season's terrorist threat.
The character will be introduced during "24's" two-hour Season 7 prequel and will be featured heavily in the latter half of the season.
The prequel, now shooting on location in South Africa, is slated to air Nov. 23, with Season 7 of the Imagine TV/20th TV-produced series kicking off in January.
The tapping of Voight marks the first A-list villain casting on "24" since Season 1 when Dennis Hopper appeared in the final episodes as Serbian nationalist Victor Drazen. [...]

[16.05.2008] CS! meldet...
Fans have been waiting almost a year for the return of "24." On Sunday, November 23 (8:00-10:00 PM ET/PT), the wait will be over as Fox presents a special two-hour prequel event.
Shot on location in South Africa, Jack Bauer battles an international crisis, while here at home the nation prepares for a new president on inauguration day. Taking place just a few months before the new day dawns, the prequel will set the stage and raise the stakes for Season 7.
"We're excited about the prequel because it explores Jack's complex emotional state of mind and still has all the signature excitement and suspense that fans have come to expect from '24,'" commented executive producer Howard Gordon. "Shooting in South Africa affirms everyone's commitment to making this season especially memorable for our fans."
Celebrating its 150th episode this season, the series has resumed production on "Day 7" and will unfold without interruption in its regular time period Mondays (9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT) beginning in January 2009. [...]

[07.03.2008] Hollywoodreporter.com meldet...
Fox's "24" will be returning in the fall, after all.
The producers of the Emmy-winning series are developing a two-hour "prequel" to the upcoming seventh season.
The movie, designed to bridge the two-year gap between Seasons 6 and 7, is targeted to air in the fall, leading to the January return of the real-time drama. On Wednesday, "24" producers began securing the show's core cast members for the film.
"24" was one of the biggest casualties of the writers strike. Three days into the work stoppage, Fox decided against airing a partial season of the serialized drama with the eight episodes produced before and during the first weeks of the strike.
Each season of "24" is a closed arc that takes place in real time over a 24-hour period. The upcoming seventh season is set in Washington and features the first female U.S. president, played by Cherry Jones.
At the end of the writers strike, there were rumblings about a possible split of the seventh season into two parts to air in the fall and in midseason. But Fox was quick to put those rumors to rest, reiterating that the show's scheduling pattern will remain intact with a January launch.
The "24" writing team is back at work, with filming on the remaining episodes of the seventh season slated to begin in April. Missing from the writers room is the series co-creator/executive producer Joel Surnow, who left at the end of the strike. Since the fifth season, "24" has been run by exec producer Howard Gordon.
Fox and 20th Century Fox TV, which produces the series with Imagine TV, declined comment Wednesday.

[30.06.2007] Cinematical sprach mit Elisha Cuthbert, u.a. über den geplanten "24"-Kinofilm...
RS: [...] What about the 24 movie? When is that gonna happen?
EC:
Your guess is as good as mine. My whole theory is that I've got the phone waiting by the bed, and I'm just sort of waiting for it to ring and them to tell me 'hey, we're gonna go do the movie.' You know, that would be the ideal situation, but I think Kiefer is so busy getting these seasons done that it's almost impossible to get anything going. But we've been talking about it since the first season. I think it's on everyone's mind, but it's got to be good. Their standards are so high over there that if it happens it's gonna happen at the right time and have the right script and all the elements have to be in the right place, obviously.
RS: So is there actually a script? Is someone working on that?
EC:
I don't think so, but I could be totally wrong, so you can't quote me on that. But they're so sneaky over there, I bet they've got all kinds of things on the go. [...]

Would Kimmy Bauer be back to [ruin] the day in a "24" movie?
Seems so. Well, if her on-screen father wants her.
Talking to MTV, former "24" regular Elisha Cuthbert - now spending most of her days just looking damn hot - revealed that she’d be keen to return as Kim Bauer, Jack’s daughter, for the forthcoming "24" movie . . . if she gets the call.
"Well, I heard it may happen after the show is done, if that even happens. But if it does [happen], and they want me, and Kiefer wants me, I would love to. Of course! I love the show."
Hmmm. After the show is done? Could’ve sworn they said they’d be doing it within the next couple of years - originally this year - and it’d serve as the ‘filler’ whilst the show is on hiatus.

[07.02.2007] Moviehole meldet...
[...] According to Variety, Sutherland became available to star in the movie when plans to carry his Jack Bauer character into a "24" feature were postponed because the script wasn't ready. Fox won't start the clock on that pic until next summer, when Sutherland completes the seventh season of the show.
Sutherland last year pacted to exec produce and star in the series through season eight, in a deal worth north of $40 million.
In "Mirrors," Sutherland will play an ex-cop who works security at a mall and discovers something awry in the mirrors of a department store. He tries to discover the origin of the evil. [...]

[17.01.2007] Die NZ berichtet über den "Tabubruch bei «24»"... SPOILER !!!

[11.01.2007] AICN meldet...
The last time we heard about a Jack Bauer movie, the powers-that-be were talking about shooting it between seasons six and seven. There were even strong suggestions that it would be shot in Europe this spring.
But on CNN’s "Larry King Live" Tuesday night, King and show creator Robert Cochran were talking about about "a movie" rather than "the movie," and that "a movie" was more likely to get slapped together near the end of the series.
Given "24’s" huge ratings, huge critical acclaim and huge 2006 contract that locks Kiefer Sutherland into seasons seven and eight, "24" doesn’t seem likely to call it quits before mid-2009.

[09.01.2007] Moviehole meldet...
Kiefer Sutherland tells About.com that the "24" movie is coming together nicely - and no, it won’t mean the end of the series.
"It’s something that we really, really want to make", Sutherland tells the site. "The real key difference would be that the 24 hour film would be a 2-hour representation of a 24 hour day. It would be the first thing that we didn’t do in real time. Mainly, you have to understand, we’re making two episodes every three weeks. We would have three months to make a two hour [movie]. Just to have that kind of time to really allow our cinematographer and our director and the writers to focus on such a finite thing, and actually be able to do a film that really has a conclusion, I think would be really exciting not only for us to make but I think for an audience as well."
The movie won’t use the real-time format of the series, though. Sutherland doesn’t think audiences will much give a shit.
"Because I think after five years and specifically when we go to shoot it after six years, the characters have been even more defined. I think that the sensibility of the show is really entrenched. The audience that it would be going after really understands those characters and has a certain expectation, and we will do everything we can to meet that."
Though the movie won’t fit in with the TV show - i.e you’ll be able to watch the movie, and not necessarily have to be a fan of the show - plans are to do both concurrently.
"Everybody compares it to X-Files the movie, except with X-Files the movie, the show was done - or at least he was done with it - at that point. I actually believe that the film and the show can actually coexist and for quite some time. I think once that starts to happen, the dynamic between television and film will really change in a major way. [...]

[...] some of the cast of hit show "24" were at the London Expo this weekend signing autographs and meeting fans. During the cast's Q & A session, the prospect of the rumoured "24" movie came up, and actress Kim Raver, who plays Audrey Heller Raines in the show, fielded the question.
She confirmed the previous comments that Kiefer Sutherland had made regarding a movie being made, and said that as far as she knew the movie should be filming next year, with parts shot in London. The cast as a whole however did emphasise that most of the details are very sketchy at the moment, and they have no idea of what the movie will be about, should it finally go ahead! [...]

[06.05.2006] Hercules von AICN meldet...
According to the BBC’s website, Sutherland told London chat show host Jonathan Ross that the "24" movie he hopes to shoot next year will be set "here." Which I guess could mean London or the United Kingdom or Europe or the Eastern Hemisphere.
The Brit newspaper The Sun, meanwhile, says the "24" movie will be shot in London, Prague and Moracco, suggesting that the movie will drop the TV show’s distinctive "real time" format. Which I guess is how a two-hour movie can get away with calling itself "24"! [...]

[10.04.2006] CS! meldet...
24 star Kiefer Sutherland has signed a deal to stay with the Fox show for three more years, through May 2009, reports Variety.
As part of the pact, Sutherland will establish a production company on the 20th Century Fox lot to produce series programming for both broadcast and cable networks.
The deal makes Sutherland one of the highest-paid drama actors on television.
Sutherland, currently co-executive producer on 24, will be bumped up to executive producer for the upcoming sixth and seven seasons of the show. He shares that title with creators Joel Surnow and Robert Cochran, as well as Howard Gordon and Evan Katz.
Finally, while the deal with Fox is for TV only, Sutherland said he and the show's producers continue to believe in the idea of bringing the 24 franchise to the big screen. The earliest the movie would begin shooting, however, is late spring 2007, Sutherland said.
Quality control is the chief reason a 24 feature couldn't shoot during the upcoming hiatus, Sutherland added.
"It was really Joel and Bob and Howard realizing that if we were going to squeeze it in during the break, we would have been rushing it," he said. "If we were going to do it, we would do it next summer. It's still a big 'if.' We would not go forward unless we thought we could do it right."
The film likely would depart from the series by condensing an entire day into about two hours, rather than unfolding in real time.
Sutherland isn't shooting a feature this hiatus in anticipation of working on a 24 film next summer.

According to Australia’s TV Week, that much-talked-about feature film version of "24" might be in theatre projectors sooner - rather than later.
The plan is to start work immediately on the film, and have it in theatres shortly after this season’s - season 5 - finale. A sixth season of the TV series would follow the film. That ol’ workdog, Kiefer Sutherland, is apparently locked and loaded and ready to go.
In other words, they’re taking a cue from "The X-Files", who released a feature film version of the series ("X-Files : Fight the Future") between seasons.
At the recent semi-annual Television Critics Association press tour, Sutherland said he believes the market is ready for the film version. "I think there's always a way to actually deal with an idea of 24 as a film that would completely be separate from 24 the television show. And by that I mean the characters could be different. They could be completely unrelated, and I think that that would still be effective".

[13.01.2006] Jack is back! Januar 2006 !!!

[10.01.2006] DH meldet...
Producers of Fox TV's "24" have begun plotting a film franchise for main character Jack Bauer reports Entertainment Weekly.
Actor Kiefer Sutherland is keen - "It can be an amazing series of movies. One of the things I've experienced making this show is that an audience can handle a lot more than we thought when we started -- the tension, the anxiety.... If we could [compress] all the energy we spread over 24 hours of programming and put that into 2, I think we'd knock your socks off".
Meanwhile TV Guide reports that Elisha Cuthbert has agreed to reprise her role as Kim Bauer in a multi-episode arc in the 7th-10th episodes of the upcoming fifth season of "24". Cuthbert didn't appear last season, her character off living with her husband Chase (James Badge Dale). The character of Chase will not be returning.

[19.11.2005] CS! berichtet über Staffel 5... SPOILER !!!
As 24's highly-anticipated premiere approaches, the cast is growing, with Julian Sands (A Room with a View), Peter Weller (RoboCop) and Oscar, Golden Globe and Emmy-nominated actress JoBeth Williams (Poltergeist and The Big Chill) join the series for it's fifth heart-stopping season. 24 premieres with a four-hour, two-night event Sunday, Jan. 15 and Monday, Jan. 16 (8:00-10:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX. Additionally, the second hour on Monday, Jan. 16 (9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT) will mark the series' 100th episode.
British born actor Julian Sands will play billionaire bad guy "Vladamir Bierko" while Peter Weller portrays "Christopher Henderson," the federal agent who recruited Jack to counter terrorist work more than a decade ago. JoBeth Williams is Henderson's wife, Miriam. All three characters will come face-to-face with Jack Bauer (Kiefer Sutherland) as he desperately attempts to prevent the series' most lethal terror threat yet on US soil.
Season five picks up 18 months after the exciting conclusion of season four, as national security is brutally breached. A presumed dead Jack Bauer (Kiefer Sutherland) is actually living a new life with Diane (Connie Britton) and her son Derek (Brady Corbet). A shaky President Logan (Gregory Itzin) is running the nation, while composed Bill Buchanan (James Morrison) commands CTU alongside key operatives Curtis Manning (Roger Cross), Edgar Stiles (Louis Lombardi) and Chloe O'Brian (Mary Lynn Rajskub). Also featured in season five will be Emmy Award-winning actress Jean Smart as First Lady Martha Logan. In addition, Tony Almeida (Carlos Bernard) and Audrey Raines (Kim Raver) return, while Lynn McGill (Sean Astin) joins CTU. [...]

Just when it looked like he was going to be stuck in the box forever - not these he's complaining, you could imagine the Ben's that are aligning his wallet thanks to the series - Kiefer Sutherland has confirmed there are plans to take "24" to the big screen, and he will be back as Jack Bauer.
"We have talked about it. Our biggest problem right now is getting the writers to find enough time to write a screenplay", he tells Empire Online.
"There are certain inherent challenges in trying to make something in real time over a two-hour period that’s going to allow enough to be engaging. I certainly believe that they’re going to accomplish that, but I don’t think that’s going to happen - well, it might happen for next year - for next year’s hiatus. We’re not sure yet, but they have been working on it."
What's the bet Elisha Cuthbert puts her hand up for a Kimmy reprise then?

[18.06.2005] JAM! berichtet über den "24"-Kinofilm...
A movie based on the Fox series 24 is in the works. But whether it will be shot in real-time is still up for consideration, says the show's Canadian director/producer Jon Cassar.
"The last I heard, the first hour will not be in real-time, but then something big will happen and real time will kick in. It still has to be worked out -- it's at a stage where they need to write it."
Cassar will not predict a storyline for the big screen version of the hugely popular show.
He says the script will likely depend on what's happening on the series prior to the movie coming out.
"It could still be two years from now, so it's far too early to say," he says, adding even if he did know, he wouldn't give it away.
"The No. 1 question people ask me is 'what's going to happen next?' My response is always, 'Do you really want to know?' and they always think about it and then say 'no.' " [...]

Dennis Haysbert is back on Fox's "24." After leaving the Imagine TV/20th Century Fox TV drama last season following his character president David Palmer's dramatic decision not to seek re-election, Haysbert has been tapped to return for the final six episodes this season. Additionally, Haysbert has landed a role in Sam Mendes' upcoming feature "Jarhead" for Universal Pictures. For the past three seasons of "24," Haysbert starred opposite Kiefer Sutherland as soft-spoken senator-turned-president, a role that earned him a Golden Globe nomination in 2003. "24" has a habit of bringing back characters, especially villains. Nina Myers (Sarah Clarke) and president Palmer's conniving wife, Sherry (Penny Johnson Jerald), both made several comebacks until their demise this past season. [...]

Unser Ziel ist es ja, jede Staffel auf der vorherigen aufzubauen - so, the best is yet to come!
